Hastings and the wider 1066 area has submitted their bid to be the 2017 UK City of Culture. Along with the usual artistic festivals and events, a 300 mile march from Stamford Bridge to Battle is planned to commemorate the 951st anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. Kitty Kat has had a busy weekend entertaining children in the garden of Strand House, for some reason he is popular with lots of little girls who follow him round during breakfast.
