It was touch and go but we finally opened before the Easter break!
The final installation of the bathrooms was the delay in finishing as the plumbing and tiling took longer than expected. The painting of the interior walls was another mammoth job that was finished at the last minute, especially the red of the hallway but it all got done by the whole building team working to 10pm the night before we opened.
We had started fitting out the rooms with furniture and adding the soft furnishings a couple of days before while they struggled away in the upstairs bathroom. Cleaning the rooms and adding the finishing touches was done by a couple of the girls who worked through the night to get the rooms ready before the firsd guests checked in.
I think you agree the results are amazing. Mary did her take on Belgian style, a combination of soft greys and blues and red accent colours based on her field trips to Bruges, Ghent, Ypres (and most of the rest of Belgium). We think is goes very well as a modern style which blends in with the views of the countryside which surround the cottage.
